I love books but reading is something that I’ve unfortunately not incorporated with my blog as of yet. I want to involve ‘bookish’ topics with my blog much more regularly, starting with what I’ve been reading recently.
Mind Your Head – Juno Dawson
The author of the brilliant book ‘This book is Gay’ James Dawson is now writing as Juno Dawson, and like all of her work, it’s beautifully written. This book is something Juno should be so proud of – she writes and admits all sorts of courageous things under the umbrella of mental health, offering both factual and humerous advice. One minute I was laughing, the next I had a lump in my throat.
Recently I’ve been re-reading the Harry Potter books (and once again absolutely loving it) as my boyfriend bought me the full set of their new book covers! I think the new book covers are incredible, and really capture the imagery that JK Rowling’s words set up. If you haven’t already, Potterheads, go out and buy them (as well as the illustrated version of the philosophers stone!
Another book I’ve been loving lately is ‘So Sad Today’ by Melissa Broder. I hadn’t read a collection of personal essays before until I read (and adored) ‘Not That Kind of Girl’ by Lena Dunham. Once I’d read it, I didn’t know what to do next because I’d loved it so much! I was recommended to try this book, and already followed Melissa’s two Twitter accounts beforehand so I’d seen it advertised. My mum ended up buying me this for my birthday, and I’ve enjoyed reading it so much, it’s definitely my favourite for this month.
I hope I shared some bookspiration! Let me know what you’ve loved reading in the comments!
