It’s pretty damn difficult to get up early sometimes, but there are many days in our weeks where it has to be done. And what if I told you it doesn’t necessarily need to be horrible? Here are some easier-than-you-think steps on how to get up earlier. Start embracing those early starts.
Plan an exciting breakfast
Plan a breakfast that isn’t just a cup of coffee, for once. I don’t know if absolutely everyone has this issue, but 8 times out of 10 my breakfast is just a coffee and it happens to be the morning. I don’t enjoy cereal, so recently I’ve been trying to plan more exciting meals. If you prepare yourself an interesting morning meal, you’ll have something to look forward instead of dreading leaving your bed.
Sleep in total darkness
Soak up that all important melatonin! This is the sleep hormone and is produced in darkness. So, now matter how “Tumblr” they are, save your Pinterest worthy bedroom pictures for another day and turn your fairy lights off.
Schedule plans accordingly
Schedule your most important plans for the morning so you are determined to get up and do it. Convince yourself (and it’s probably correct) that it will not get done if you don’t get up and sort it out now.
Turn off your phone when you go to sleep the night before
You know why.
Make sure your bed blanket is nice and warm
You will sleep much easier and more comfortable if you are very warm.
Read a book
Read a book (that isn’t online so you can’t browse away from it) to help you relax and get comfortable.
I hope this helped! How early do you get up? What tips do you follow to get up earlier?
